Florida History, LLC, is a woman-owned, registered small business enterprise, specializing in cultural resource management, archaeological compliance and survey, historical research, historic structure documentation, and anthropological research. We perform all aspects of cultural resource management within Florida and the Southeast for clients in both the public and private sectors. Your project will be completed by experienced professionals meeting the Secretary of the Interior’s standards in anthropology, archaeology, architectural history, and history. Who We Are

Lucy D. Jones, President and owner of Florida History, LLC, has more than a decade of experience in cultural resource management as a historian and architectural historian. While her particular areas of expertise are local history and the built environment, she is also experienced as an oral historian. She has served as a consultant on projects for the U.S. Coast Guard, Florida Department of Transportation, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, water management districts, and other public agencies as well as numerous private clients. Paul L. Jones, RPA, Senior Vice President of Florida History, LLC, has over twenty years of cultural resource management experience as a consultant for public and private entities, and is a Registered Professional Archaeologist. Mr. Jones is also the current President of the Florida Archaeological Council, serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Public Archaeology Network, and is Chair of the Hillsborough County Historic Resources Review Board. An area of particular expertise for Mr. Jones is Native American Consultation, working with tribes to find mutually agreeable solutions when proposed projects will impact culturally significant sites. James N. Ambrosino, Ph.D., RPA, a Senior Archaeologist at Florida History, LLC, is proficient in managing large-scale and intensive cultural resource surveys and investigations throughout the Southeast with extensive pipeline, transportation, and defense experience. Dr. Ambrosino specializes in the prehistory of the southeastern United States and Central America and is a Registered Professional Archaeologist. Contact him at jambrosino@floridahistoryllc.com.

Kelly A. Driscoll, RPA, Senior Archaeologist at Florida History, LLC, specializes in historic archaeological sites and cultural resource surveys and is a Registered Professional Archaeologist. Her research interests are focused on Florida’s historic past, particularly coastal sites and lighthouses. She has completed projects for a wide variety of clients, including the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, numerous engineering and environmental firms, and private land owners. Ms. Driscoll also coordinates all telecommunications (cell tower) projects for Florida History, LLC. April F. Watson, M.A., is a Staff Archaeologist at Florida History, LLC, and is based at our South Florida field office. She specializes in human osteology and GIS modeling, and used GIS in developing an archaeological site location predictive model in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
