Florida History, LLC, is a woman-owned, small business enterprise, specializing in cultural resource management, archaeological compliance and survey, historical research, historic structure documentation, and anthropological research. We perform all aspects of cultural resource management within Florida and the Southeast for clients in both the public and private sectors. Your project will be completed by experienced professionals meeting the Secretary of the Interior’s standards in anthropology, archaeology, architectural history, and history. History and archaeology and cultural resource management are ultimately all about people, an idea we carry over into our client relationships. Florida History, LLC, is dedicated to providing you with high-quality, personal service tailored to your specific needs.

Lucy D. Jones, President and owner of Florida History, LLC, has more than a decade of experience in cultural resource management as a historian and architectural historian. Ms. Jones holds masters degrees in Florida Studies and Elementary Education, and meets federal professional qualification standards as a historian and architectural historian. While her particular areas of expertise are local history and the built environment, she is also experienced as an oral historian. Currently, she is an adjunct faculty member of the University of South Florida – St. Petersburg, teaching an honors seminar, “Florida Art and Culture.” She has served as a consultant on projects for the Florida Department of Transportation, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Southwest Florida Water Management District, the U.S. Department of Defense, and other public agencies as well as numerous private clients.

Paul L. Jones, Senior Vice President of Florida History, LLC, has over twenty years of cultural resource management experience as a consultant for public and private entities, and is a Registered Professional Archaeologist. Mr. Jones is also the current President of the Florida Archaeological Council, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Public Archaeology Network. He has served as principal investigator, project manager, and administrator for over 1,800 archaeological and historical projects in Florida and the Southeast; and is frequently called upon to appear at public hearings on behalf of clients. An area of particular expertise for Mr. Jones is Native American Consultation, working with tribes to find mutually agreeable solutions when proposed projects will impact culturally significant sites. Additionally, Mr. Jones is an experienced museum director, with experience in master planning, developing strategic plans, designing exhibits, conducting capital campaigns, and supervising volunteer programs.
